Julia Roberts’ niece, Emma Roberts, has seen her career take off in a big way in the last few years, following her acting debut in the 2001 drama Blow with Johnny Depp and Penelope Cruz. Besides her Nickelodeon children’s television show, Unfabulous, which ended its third season in December 2007, the 16-year-old has busied herself with a variety of films, namely the 2006 family comedies Spymate and Aquamarine, and summer 2007's Nancy Drew, which absolutely disappointed at the box office, earning a measly $25.6 million domestically and another $2 million in change abroad. No big awards came out of the film either, save for a pair of Teen Choice Awards nominations.

In the British film Wild Child, Emma continues her growing movie career by starring as a rebellious Malibu princess, Poppy, who is sent to a strict boarding school by her father. The film arrives in theaters from a pair of newbies — in their respective fields at least. Wild Child marks the writing debut of Lucy Dahl, daughter to the late author Roald Dahl, known most notably for his children’s literature like James and the Giant Peach, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Fantastic Mr. Fox. Directorial credits go to Nick Moore, who helmed just his second picture behind A Good Day for Ted Schmetterling in 2005. Moore has made a career as a film editor, editing mostly British films like Nanny McPhee, Love Actually, About a Boy and Notting Hill. (Eric Hughes/BOP)
