Dan Harris, who co-wrote the screenplay for X2: X-Men United, is now at the tender age of 24 making his directorial debut with the coming-of-age tale Imaginary Heroes. The film will screen at the 2004 Toronto International Film Festival before distributor Sony Pictures Classics gives it an awards-qualifying December release. They then plan to give it wider distribution in 2005 The story centers around a family that seems to be living the ideal life, at least on the surface. This idyllic façade is shattered by an incomprehensible event that spins their lives out of control. Locked doors will be opened and haunting secrets that have accumulated over decades will be revealed. Facing these truths allow them to take control of the future.
