Angela Bassett helms first feature
Angela Bassett will make her directorial debut in United States, based on the novel erasure by Percival Everett. Adapted by Dwayne Johnson-Cochran, the dramatic comedy is about Monk Ellison, a black literary figure who pens a fake autobiography as a barely literate hoodlum to show what's wrong with the glorification of "ghetto" culture. However, when the book is in the running for a major award, the author must choose between pride and fame.
