Megan Fox lines up two projects
Megan Fox will star in Fathom and is in final talks to star in Jonah Hex. The former is a comic book adaptation about a woman named Aspen who learns she can control water. The latter, co-starring Josh Brolin and John Malkovich, has Fox playing Leila, love interest to Hex (Brolin).

John Malkovich squares off with Josh Brolin
John Malkovich will star opposite Josh Brolin in Jimmy Hayward's Jonah Hex. In the movie, Malkovich will play wealthy plantation owner Turnbull, whose son is killed during the Civil War. The man blames the death on Hex (Brolin), a former soldier-turned-gunslinger. Production begins in April.

Jimmy Hayward replaces departed directors
Horton Hears a Who! helmer Jimmy Hayward will take over directing duties on Jonah Hex for Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor, who bowed out in November due to creative differences. In the project, Josh Brolin is attached to star as the title character, a gunslinger whose adventures always end in blood.

Directing team leaves DC Comics project
Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor will no longer direct Jonah Hex. The duo, who wrote the screenplay, dropped out to due creative differences. The studio is now moving quickly to find a replacement director to keep Josh Brolin in the fold as the project's star.

Josh Brolin is in negotiations to star in Jonah Hex, a Warner Bros. project based on the DC Comics property. Crank writer-directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor will handle scripting and directing duties.
