UA kidnaps Charles Randolph for adaptation
United Artists signed up Charles Randolph to handle scripting duties for The Birthday Party, a film adaptation of Stanley N. Alpert's nonfiction book that describes his 25-hour kidnapping in a Brooklyn apartment in 1998.
