Denzel is new competition for Damon
Another best-selling book franchise is heading to Hollywood from the late Robert Ludlum (The Bourne series), and Denzel Washington is attached to play its hero. The project, The Matarese Circle, is about two secret agents who must work together to take down a group of killers known as the Matarese. The catch: both agents are enemies because both are responsible for killing someone close to the other. Washington, of course, would portray one of the agents. Attached to write are 3:10 to Yuma scribes Michael Brandt and Derek Haas.
