Aniston, Bateman are having a baby
Jennifer Aniston and Jason Bateman will star in Baster, a fertility-themed comedy based on a Jeffrey Eugenides short story that originally appeared in The New Yorker. The story is about an insecure man (Bateman) who learns that his best friend (Aniston) wants to have a baby through artificial insemination. He replaces her donor's sperm with his own, and is then forced to harbor the secret that he's the child's real father. Allan Loeb (21) penned the screenplay. Will Speck and Josh Gordon (Blades of Glory) will direct.

Farrellys to Direct Baby Story
Peter and Bobby Farrelly have agreed to direct Baster, a romantic comedy based on a short story by Jeffrey Eugenides, the author of The Virgin Suicides. Allan Loeb wrote the script for the film, described as a "character-driven romantic comedy for the in vitro age." Eugenides' story was about a woman's desire to have a baby.
