Peach Arch purchases Ugly Betty-starrer
Peach Arch Entertainment bought domestic film rights to Toward Darkness (Hacia la oscuridad), a film starring America Ferrera and Tony Plana (ABC's Ugly Betty). Toward Darkness is helmed by Antonio Negret (Darkness Minus Twelve) and is expected to be released in the spring.

Ferrera Goes Toward Darkness
America Ferrera, who will star in ABC's Fall television comedy Betty the Ugly, will star in and executive produce independent film Hacia la Oscuridad (Toward Darkness). The bilingual thriller is from writer-director Antonio Negret and focuses on the final 90 minutes in the life of a kidnapped Colombian. His family, a ransom delivery man, and a special ops team attempt to save him. Shooting is currently underway in Panama. Ferrera also previously starred in Real Women Have Curves and The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.
