Disney steers in new scribe
Disney brought on Justin Marks to rewrite Bill Marsilii's draft for the studio's underwater adventure flick, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo. McG remains on the project as its director. Marks' credits include Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li (due out February 27th) and Hack/Slash.

McG to helm 20,000 Leagues update
Disney tapped McG (Terminator Salvation) to direct 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Captain Nemo. The studio hopes to make the film this year. The project was scripted by Bill Marsilli.

New Line Heads for the Sea
New Line is preparing a remake of Jules Verne's sci-fi novel 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Sam Raimi, director of the Spider-Man movies, and Josh Donen are on board as producers. The original 1954 movie was about a 19th century adventure to find a mysterious creature that had been attacking ships. The update will more closely examine the background of Captain Nemo and his prisoners.
