Pixar's Cars drives to 2006
Disney and Pixar have moved the release date of Cars from November 2005 to June 9, 2006. The November date previously occupied by Cars will be filled both by the CGI-animated Chicken Little and The Legend of Zorro. The release shift was made by Disney, but they are said to have been following Pixar CEO Steve Jobs' plan to have all Pixar films released in the summer a la Finding Nemo. Cars is scheduled to be completed on its normal timeframe. The delay will give Pixar more time
to negotiate a new distributing partner, and may give Disney a chance to get back in the fray, as Michael Eisner, who frequently clashes with Jobs, will leave Disney in time for that to happen.
