Ring 2 gets bumped
DreamWorks has pushed the release of The Ring 2 to March 24, 2005 due to delays in production. A few weeks ago, it had been announced that the film would move from its originally scheduled November release to early 2005. The slowdown occurred due to a last-minute director switch and conflicts with lead Naomi Watts' schedule. Hideo Nakata took over directing duties when Noam Murro dropped off the project. Nakata helmed the original Ringu, the Japanese film on which the 2002 North American remake The Ring was based. According to Jim Tharp, head of DreamWorks distribution, the new date was selected because it falls close to school and college spring holidays.
