Rings to return in December
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King will be back in December - this time on an extended edition DVD. This particular DVD set will be the longest so far in the series, with 50 minutes added to the theatrical release (which was already three hours and 20 minutes long). The more basic DVD edition of the film was already released on May 25, 2004, and consumers have spent $236 million on that product. That makes more than $1 billion in profits for the three Lord of the
Rings films in DVD profits alone.
The new edition of the film will retail for $79.92.
