The Coen brothers to adapt Portis novel

The iconic Western that won John Wayne an Oscar, True Grit, is getting a Joel and Ethan Coen makeover. The boys signed on to rework the film for Paramount. Though the project isn't a strict remake of the 1969 pic. Instead, the movie will be more faithful to the Charles Portis book.
