Slumdog Millionaire scribe tapped to write romantic comedy
Simon Beaufoy will write the Amy Adams wehicle Leap Year for Spyglass Entertainment. The project's first draft was co-written by Harry Elfont and Deb Kaplan (Made of Honor). Anand Tucker will direct.

Amy Adams weds proposal movie
Amy Adams is in talks to nab the lead role in Leap Year, a romantic comedy from Spyglass. In the film, the actress would play an uptight woman who travels to Dublin to propose to her boyfriend on Feb. 29 (or Leap Day). It is an Irish tradition for women to propose to men on that day. However, when nasty weather threatens to erase Adams' plan, she makes an unexpected cross-country trip to pull off the proposal at the right time.
