Vampire flick steals Harry Potter's release date
Twilight vacated its December 12th release date in favor of a new one: November 21st, which previously was set aside for the next Harry Potter film until Warner Bros. bumped the fantasy film to summer 2009. Said Summit's Rob Friedman to The Hollywood Reporter: "When Warner Bros. decided to move 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince' to the summer of 2009, we saw a unique opportunity to slot in our film which has been gaining tremendous awareness and momentum over the past several months."

Summit bites into new cast
Summit Entertainment assembled its ensemble cast for Twilight, a vampire gender-bender slated for a late 2008 release. Peter Facinelli (Riding In Cars with Boys), Elizabeth Reaser (The Family Stone) and Jackson Rathbone (Fox's The O.C) have been cast as vampires in the flick about a teenage vampire who falls in love with a non-vampire, based on a novel by Stephenie Meyer. Nikki Reed (Lords of Dogtown) Ashley Greene (CBS's Shark) and Kellan Lutz (HBO's The Comeback) have also joined the cast.

Pattinson takes a Twilight bite
Robert Pattinson (Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire) joined the cast of Twilight, a teen vampire thriller to be directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen). In the film, to begin production in February, Pattinson will play Edward, a teenage vampire who falls in love with Bella (Kristen Stewart), who is not a vampire. It's based on Stephenie Meyer's best-selling book.

Stewart steps into Twilight
Kristen Stewart (Into the Wild) signed on to take a bite out of Twilight, a vampire thriller-romance to be directed by Catherine Hardwicke (Thirteen). In the film based on Stephenie Meyer's best-seller, Stewart will be Bella Swan, a 17-year-old who puts herself in danger when she falls for Edward, a vampire. Production begins in February.
