Weinstein picks up Theron vehicle
Latin American rights to the Charlize Theron vehicle The Burning Plain have been bought by Costantini Films and Weinstein Co. The drama will mark the directorial debut of screenwriter Guillermo Arriaga, who wrote Babel and 21 Grams. In the film, Theron plays a woman who grew up with a difficult childhood and decides one day to reconcile with her parents, played by Kim Basinger and Danny Pino. Shooting is expected to begin shortly in New Mexico.
