Underworld is back, but without star Beckinsale
Sony's Screen Gems and Lakeshore Entertainment announced that an Underworld prequel is in the works, but star of the first two installments, Kate Beckinsale, will not reprise her role. In this one, Michael Sheen and Bill Nighy return in a film set in the Dark Ages, tracing the rivalry between the vampires and Lycans. The franchise's third entry is titled Underworld 3: The Rise of the Lycans. Written by Danny McBride, co-writer of the first two Underworlds, the film begins production in January in New Zealand.
