Rod Lurie to Direct Straw Dogs Remake
Rod Lurie (The Contender) will direct a remake of thriller Straw Dogs for Screen Gems. Reed Steiner (FX's The Shield) is writing the screenplay. The original was released in 1971 and was directed by Sam Peckinpah. It was about and American (Dustin Hoffman) and his English wife who move to rural England and face vicious, and eventually very violent, harassment. And then he fights back.
