Japanese Director to Film Sushi Western
You've heard of "spagetti westerns," but Japanese director Takashi Miike (Audition) is making the first "sushi western." Miike's friend Quentin Tarantino will take a supporting role in the film, in part because Miike had a small role in Tarantino-produced horror flick Hostel. Hideaki Itoh will star, while others in the cast include Kaori Momoi (Memoirs of a Geisha), Koji Sato and Yoshino Kimura. The movie will be filmed entired in English, and as such, the mostly Japanese cast is undergoing intense English-language training. It is scheduled to be released in late 2007 by Sony Pictures.
