McShane Jumps on Hot Rod
Deadwood star Ian McShane has taken a role in Hot Rod for Paramount Pictures. The film is a collaboration by the Saturday Night Live Lonely Island comedy team of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiv Schaffer. Schaffer is directing, Samberg is starring, and Taccone will take a supporting role. Pam Brady wrote the story, about an accident-prone daredevil (Samberg) with grandiose plans to jump over Snake River in a moped in order to be more like his hero Evel Knievel and win over his stepfather (played by McShane). Hot Rod is being produced by Lorne Michaels and John Goldwyn.
