Whitford takes on Crime
Bradley Whitford (The West Wing) has signed on for the cast of Tommy O'Haver's An American Crime. The gritty true crime drama centers on a 16-year-old girl named Sylvia Likens, a girl who died while under the care of a woman named Gertrude Baniszewski. Whitford will play the prosecuting attorney in the case.

Keener Commits a Crime
Catherine Keener (Capote) and Ellen Page (X-Men: The Last Stand) will star in An American Crime, to be directed by Tommy O'Haver (Ella Enchanted). O'Haver and Irene Turner wrote the story, about a 16 year-old girl who dies in 1965 after a vicous ordeal of beatings, being burned with cigarettes and matches, scalding hot baths, and other tortures. The tormentor, to be played by Keener, encouraged a "Lord of the Flies"-type cult involving her own children and others from the neighborhod.
