Black to Be Kind to Gondry
Jack Black will star in Michael Gondry's Be Kind Rewind. Focus Features has picked up international distribution rights for the wild comedy, from writer and director Gondry. Black will play a man whose brain becomes magnetized and inadvertently destroys all of the movies in his friends video store. But in order to keep the stores's one loyal customer, the man and his friend set about reenacting all of the movies that the customer rents. Some of these include The Lion King, Rush Hour, Back to the Future, and Robocop. Gondry previously directed Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, as well as this Summer's The Science of Sleep.
