Picturehouse is Silky
Picturehouse has acquired distribution rights to Francois Girard's upcoming romantic drama, Silk. The film will feature Michael Pitt, Keira Knightley, Alfred Molina and Koji Yakusho. The story is based on the bestselling book by Alessandro Baricco. It tells the tale of a 19th century French silkworm merchant who goes to Japan. There, he begins a forbidden romance with a mysterious but highly sexy woman. Girard adapted the screenplay to direct himself.
