Wanted takes a step back
Wanted will reach theaters a bit later than previously expected. The film, about a young man who discovers his father was a member of a society of assassins with special powers, will bow on June 27, the frame before Independence Day, instead of March 28.

Common is Wanted
Hip-hop artist Common has signed with Universal Pictures for Wanted. He'll join James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman and Angelina Jolie in the adaptation of the Mark Millar graphic novel. The story follows a businessman (McAvoy) who learns that he is the son of the most evil supervillain in the world. When this master villain is assassinated, his son inherits all his powers and begins to work alongside the other supervillains (Freeman, Jolie and Common) who control the planet. Timur Bekmambetov directs the film from a screenplay by Michael Brandt and Derek Haas.

Jolie is Wanted by Universal
Angelina Jolie will co-star in Wanted for Universal Pictures. The action film is based on a graphic novel and Timur Bekmambetov is directing. James McAvoy and Morgan Freeman are already set to star. McAvoy will be a young man who learns that his murdered father was an assassin. He begins training to follow in his father's path, with Jolie and Freeman playing assassins who train McAvoy.

Freeman is Wanted for Sci-fi Role
Morgan Freeman is in final negotiations to star in Wanted for Universal Pictures, a sci-fi action film also starring James McAvoy. McAvoy will play a man who discovers that his dead father was an assassin. He is recruited in a secret organization and trained to follow the path of his father. Freeman will play a fellow assassin who trains McAvoy.

McAvoy is Wanted
James McAvoy (Mr. Tumnus in The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) will star in Wanted. The sci-fi action film is based on a comic book series from Mark Millar and will also mark the English-language directorial debut of Russian Timur Bekmambetov.

Night Watch director is Wanted
Timur Bekmambetov, who directed the popular Russian film Night Watch, has signed to direct his first English-language film. Wanted is based on the comic book series by Mark Millar and is set up at Universal. The story centers on a white-collar worker who discovers that his father is in fact a supervillain. When his father is killed, the young man has to try to take over his father's legacy. Derek Haas and Michael Brandt wrote the screenplay.
