Deschanel crosses Bridge
Zooey Deschanel has joined the cast of Bridge to Terabithia for Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media. Gabor Csupo is making his live action directorial debut on the fantasy film, which is based on the Katherine Paterson 1978 Newbery Award winning book. Josh Hutcherson and AnnaSophia Robb will star as two classmates who see themselves as outsiders and create the imaginary world of Terabithia, a kingdom that is full of magical beings. Deschanel will play their teacher, a woman whom they admire. Jeff Stockwell wrote the screenplay.

Hutcherson goes to Terabithia
Josh Hutcherson (Zathura) has been cast in the lead role for Walden Media and Walt Disney's Bridge to Terabithia. The movie will be helmed by animation giant Gabor Csupo, who is going a different road for this live-action feature. The movie is based on the classic Katherine Paterson kid's novel about a boy who finds his life drastically changed when he becomes friends with a strange girl. Together, they create a world named Terabithia, an imaginary kingdom replete with giants, trolls and a variety of other magical creatures.

Disney, Walden cross Bridge
Walt Disney Pictures and Walden Media are set to adapt the classic children's book Bridge to Terabithia, the 1977 Newberry Medal winner from Katherine Patterson. The book centers on two kids, an 11-year-old boy and the tomboy whom he befriends. With both of them feeling a bit outside the fringe, they create their own imaginary world called Terabithia, complete with giants, trolls and all sorts of fantastic beings.
