Focus goes to Block Party
Focus Features has acquired the rights to Dave Chappelle's Block Party, a movie directed by Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind). The movie has Chappelle performing freestyle standup and also features performances by Kanye West, Mos Def, Erykah Badu, Dead Prez and the Roots. Chappelle created the concept by determining that he would throw a party, inviting local Brooklyn residents and Gondry's cameras. The movie will be released under the Rogue Pictures banner.
