Lohman Joins Cast of Fire
Alison Lohman (Matchstick Men; Flicka) will join the cast of DreamWorks' Things We Lost in the Fire. In the film, a woman's (Halle Berry) husband (David Duchovny) suddenly dies. Lohman will play the co-dependent girlfriend of the husband's best friend (Benicio Del Toro).

Duchovny Hops in the Fire
David Duchovny will join fellow stars Halle Berry and Benicio Del Toro in Things We Lost in the Fire for DreamWorks. Directed by Susanne Bier (Open Hearts) and written by Allan Loeb, the story is about a woman whose husband dies suddenly. The widow invites her late husband's troubled friend to live with her family. While the friend begins to turn his life around, he also helps the grieving family confront their loss. Duchovny will star as the husband, who will appear in flashbacks. The film is scheduled to begin filming in August.

DreamWorks is on Fire
DreamWorks has acquired the Allan Loeb spec script Things We Lost in the Fire. The project has been set up for Sam Mendes, whose next movie is Jarhead this fall, to produce. The story centers on a woman whose husband dies unexpectedly and suddenly. When she invites her husband's troubled best friend to live with them, he is able to slowly turn his own life around and in the process help the family deal with their own loss.
