Wahlberg brings the Payne
Mark Wahlberg (The Departed) is in talks to star in Max Payne, an adaptation of the hit video game. John Moore will direct. If signed, Wahlberg would play a DEA agent who is framed for the murder of another agent and finds himself in the center of a mob war.

Max Payne heads to big screen
20th Century Fox is set to bring an adaptation of the videogame Max Payne to the big screen. The videogame centers on a NYC cop whose wife and child are killed by thugs who are high on a drug called Valkyr. Heartbroken, the cop joins the DEA in order to go undercover with the mob to find the drug's source. Soon, he is framed for the murder of his partner and hunted by the mob and the police, which means that he must wage his war against crime alone.
