Jolie set for Beowulf
Angelina Jolie will star in Beowulf for director Robert Zemeckis. Paramount and Warner Bros. are in final talks to handle the distribution of the project. Jolie will play the queen of darkness in the film, and joins Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Brendan Gleeson, Robin Wright Penn and Crispin Glover. The movie will used filmed performances to transfer to performance capture, the same process that Zemeckis used in Polar Express and the upcoming Monster House. Roger Avary and Neil Gaiman wrote the screenplay and are executive producing.

Cast circling Beowulf
Columbia Pictures is in talks with Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Brendan Gleeson and Robin Wright Penn to star in Beowulf for Robert Zemeckis. The movie will be performance capture animation, much like Zemeckis' earlier Polar Express. The movie is based on the Old English epic poem about a knight who slays a monster and becomes king. Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary wrote the screenplay.
