McDonough is a Guardian
Neal McDonough will star alongside Ashton Kutcher, Kevin Costner and Sela Ward in The Guardian. The Touchstone Pictures film is being directed by Andy Davis from a screenplay by Ron Brinkerhoff and James Vanderbilt. The movie will star Kutcher as a Coast Guard enlistee who is working with a legendary rescue swimmer, played by Costner. McDonough will play a protégé of Costner's character.

Ward gets a Guardian
Sela Ward has joined the cast of The Guardian for Touchstone Pictures. Kevin Costner heads up the cast as a Coast Guard swimmer/rescuer who becomes haunted by a tragedy that has occurred. Ashton Kutcher will play Costner's protege, and Melissa Sagemiller will play Kutcher's girlfriend. Ward will portray Costner's wife, with whom he struggles as their marriage is in turmoil.

Sagemiller gets a Guardian
Melissa Sagemiller has joined the cast of The Guardian, where she'll star alongside Kevin Costner and Ashton Kutcher. Andrew Davis is directing the film, which centers on a Coast Guard swimmer rescuer (Costner) who finds himself haunted by tragedy. Kutcher portrays his protege, and Sagemiller will be Kutcher's love interest.

Costner and Kutcher join forces for Disney
