Ashanti says John Tucker Must Die

Ashanti has joined the cast of John Tucker Must Die, which Betty Thomas is directing for 20th Century Fox. It's described as a teen version of First Wives Club, and centers on a trio of girls who look to obtain revenge on the school lothario who has led them on by setting him up with the new girl in town, then having her break his heart. Ashanti will play one of the trio, and joins a cast that includes Jesse Metcalfe, Sophia Bush and Brittany Snow. The screenplay was written by Jeff Lowell, with revisions by Larry Stuckey.

Bush, Snow snag roles in John Tucker Must Die

Sophia Bush and Brittany Snow are in final talks to star in John Tucker Must Die for 20th Century Fox. The movie is described as a high school take on The First Wives Club and centers on three girls from different social groups who join together to exact revenge on the school's resident lothario who has broken all three of their hearts. They set him up to fall for the new girl in town, with plans for her to ultimately break his heart. Snow will portray the new girl, Bush will play one of the trio, and Jesse Metcalfe (Desperate Housewives) will play John Tucker.

Desperate Housewives hottie to make film debut

Jesse Metcalfe, who portrays Gabrielle's high school paramour John Rowland on Desperate Housewives, has signed for his first major feature film role in 20th Century Fox's John Tucker Must Die. Metcalfe will play a heartthrob whose cheating leads three of his ex-girlfriends to lead him to fall for the new girl in town with the sole intent of having her dump him. Betty Thomas will direct from a screenplay by Jeff Lowell.

Thomas to go after Tucker

Betty Thomas is in negotiations with Fox to direct the comedy John Tucker Must Die. TV scripter Jeff Lowell wrote the screenplay about three high school girls from very different cliques who are all dumped by the same hunky guy. They join forces to make the young man pay for his heartbreaking ways.
