Delpy, Davis are part of a Hoax
Julie Delpy and Hope Davis have joined the ensemble cast of director Lasse Hallstrom's drama Hoax. Richard Gere will star as Clifford Irving, the man who wrote and sold a bogus biography of Howard Hughes to a book publisher. Along with Gere, Alfred Molina and Marcia Gay Harden have also signed for roles. Delpy will play Irving's mistress, and Davis will play an employee at book publisher McGraw-Hill. Disney is set to distribute the film.

Disney buys a Hoax
Walt Disney Studios has acquired domestic distribution rights to director Lasse Hallstrom's drama Hoax. The movie stars Richard Gere as Clifford Irving, who wrote a bogus biography of Howard Hughes, selling it to McGraw-Hill in the '70s and having a big hit as a result. Alfred Molina will portray Richard Suskind, Irving's accomplice in pulling off the hoax, and Marcia Gay Harden will play Irving's wife.

Hallstrom to direct Hoax
Lasse Hallstrom will direct Hoax, the story of Clifford Irving, the man who wrote and sold a bogus biography of billionaire aviator Howard Hughes to McGraw-Hill. Richard Gere is currently in talks to play Irving, with Alfred Molina looking to play his accomplice Richard Suskind. The screenplay was written by William Wheeler.
