Vendetta gets pushed
Citing post-production delays as their reason, Warner Bros. has moved V for Vendetta's release date from November 4, 2005 to March 17, 2006. There had previously been some speculation that the movie might find itself pushed due to similarities in its story, which takes place in London, and the recent real-life terrorist attacks that occurred there. The studio did not address this issue, however. With the move for Vendetta, Warner Bros. will move the Eric Bana/Drew Barrymore film Lucky You off the March 17th date and will reschedule for a date that is yet to be determined.

Moore's Vendetta making it to big screen
James McTeigue, the Wachowski brothers' first assistant director on the Matrix films, is in final negotiations to direct the big-screen adaptation of Alan Moore's graphic novel V for Vendetta. At one point, the Wachowski's were very interested in taking on the property themselves, but set it aside when they became consumed with The Matrix. The story is extremely dark, taking place in an alternate future in which Germany wins WWII and Great Britain becomes a fascist
state. A terrorist freedom fighter known only as V begins to take on totalitarianism, recruiting a young woman he rescued from the secret police to join him.
