Cast set for Nights in Rodanthe
Christopher Meloni and James Franco have signed on to star in Nights in Rodanthe for Warner Bros. Based on a novel by Nicholas Sparks, the movie features Richard Gere as a doctor who stops at a North Carolina inn while making a trip to reconcile with his estranged son. While in the beach town, the doctor has an impacting romance with a woman (Diane Lane) who is unhappily married. George Wolfe directs from a screenplay by Ken Hixon and Ann Peacock

Gere and Lane Reunite
Richard Gere and Diane Lane will reunite to costar in Nights in Rodanthe, an adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' romance novel for Warner Bros. The pair previously worked together on Unfaithful. The story in Nights in Rodanthe is about a doctor (Gere) traveling to make amends with his estranged son. On his trip, he meets and romances a woman (Lane) in a North Carolina beach town. The woman must decide whether or not to stay in her unhappy marriage. The film will be the fourth movie based on Sparks' work, after A Walk to Remember, Message in a Bottle, and The Notebook.

Peacock goes for Nights in Rodanthe
Ann Peacock (The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe) has signed on to adapt Nicholas Sparks' Nights in Rodanthe for Warner Bros. The movie tells the story of a doctor's life-altering romance that takes place when he stops at an inn on his way to see his estranged son.
