Hannibal Lecter returns

Hannibal Lecter is about to reappear on bookshelves and in your local theater again - this time centering on the infamous character's youth. The creator of the character, novelist Thomas Harris, is already working on the novel, Behind the Mask. Producer Dino De Laurentiis is planning to bring the story to the big screen sometime in 2006. The prequel will be about the development of the mind of a monster, and requires some complicated casting. At this point, the studio is considering using a five-year-old, a 14-year-old and an early 20-something. Though the character is actually Lithuanian, the producer is looking to use actors with British accents (like Anthony Hopkins). Both the book and the movie will be set in 1940s Europe. There's not much known about the actual plot of the story other than the fact that the young Lecter will be a loner with a high IQ. His emotions alternate from extreme empathy with others to outright antipathy.
