More casting for Flicka
Maria Bello, Dallas Roberts and Danny Pino have all joined the cast of Flicka, a remake of the 1943 Fox film My Friend Flicka. In the movie Alison Lohman will play Katie, a girl living on a ranch and hopes to run it someday (much to the dismay of her father - Tim McGraw - who is hoping that job will instead go to her brother). She finds a wild horse and raises it, then claims it as her own. Bello will play Katie's mother, while Roberts and Pino will have supporting roles.

Flicka gets some human cast
Fox 2000's update of My Friend Flicka, known simply as Flicka, has added Tim McGraw, Alison Lohman and Ryan Kwanten (Summerland) to its cast. Set at a modern-day Wyoming ranch, it centers on a teenager named Katie (Lohman), who dreams of running her family's ranch. This concerns her father (McGraw) who prefers that those duties pass to her older brother. Katie finds a wild horse named Flicka, tames it, and keeps it as her own.

Flicka returns
Michael Mayer has signed on to direct the 21st century update of My Friend Flicka. Larry Konner and Mark Rosenthal adapted the screenplay from the classic novel by Mary O'Hara. The story centers on a determined teenage girl whose father gives her the horse of her dreams.
