Besson starts filming Arthur

In his first time behind the camera in over five years, Luc Besson has begun filming Arthur, an adaptation of his own series of children's books. Freddie Highmore (Finding Neverland) portrays Arthur, a little boy who turns to a tiny people known as the Minimoys to help him save his father's house. Mia Farrow plays his mother, and Madonna, David Bowie and Snoop Dogg will all provide voices for CGI animated characters. Shooting began on Monday.

Madonna to topline voice cast

Madonna will head up the voice cast for Arthur, a CGI-animated film to be directed by Luc Besson. Based on a series of children's books written by Besson, the story centers on a ten-year-old boy who wants to help save his grandfather's house from developers. To that end, he goes searching for treasure in the land of the Minimoys, tiny people who live in harmony with nature. Madonna will voice Princess Selenia, who travels with Arthur to a mysterious city where an evil being habituates.
