IFC, Focus share rights to Brothers
IFC Films and Focus Features have acquired joint distribution rights to the Danish film Brothers from Susanne Bier. IFC Films will release the film into theaters, while Focus will center around home entertainment.
The Danish-language film tells the story of an ex-con who takes responsibility for his brother's family when the sibling is ostensibly killed in a military plane crash. The film screened last month at both the Toronto and San Sebastien film festivals, winning top acting awards for stars Connie Nielsen and Ulrich Thomsen at San Sebastien.
