Fine Line buys Yao
Fine Line Features has purchased the worldwide distribution rights to Jim Stern and Adam Del Deo's The Year of the Yao, a documentary about the Chinese basketball phenomenon Yao Ming. The movie follows the 7'6" center for the Houston Rockets during his first year in the NBA, where he had to deal with the pressure of being a rookie as well as being an idol for people in his homeland. The film just screened at the Toronto Film Festival as a Reel to Reel selection.
