The movie was written by Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant, with Garant set to direct. The story centers on a super-great ping pong player who comes to disgrace in the sport and is relegated to displaying his abilities in Las Vegas. One day, though, the CIA enlists him for a comeback. Lennon and Garant have Balls of Fury
Now that dodgeball has become a hit on the big screen, some of the writers from the television series The State will attempt to parlay ping-pong to the same success. Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant, who also wrote the upcoming Vin Diesel comedy The Pacifier, created the screenplay for the film, which will be produced by New Line Cinema and Spyglass Entertainment. Lennon, who plays Lieutenant Dangle on Reno 911!, is looking to star in the film.
