Bridges goes to Tideland
Actor Jeff Bridges has joined the cast of Terry Gilliam's next movie, Tideland. This will mark the first time the actor and director have worked together since the 1991 Oscar-winning feature The Fisher King. Cast members already onboard include Jodelle Ferland, Jennifer Tilly, Janet McTeer and Brendan Fletcher. The movie is based on the Southern gothic novel by Mitch Cullin and was adapted for the big screen by Tony Grisoni. The story centers around a girl who creates a fantastical world to help her escape the pain of her father's death.

Ferland goes to Tideland
Nine-year-old Jodelle Ferland (Kingdom Hospital) has signed on to play the lead role in director Terry Gilliam's film Tideland. The movie will begin shooting on September 27th in Saskatchewan. The screenplay was written by Gilliam and Toni Grisoni and is based on Mitch Cullin's gothic novel about the fantasy world of a ten-year-old orphan who has been abandoned in the farmland surrounding Saskatchewan. Along with Ferland, other stars of the film include Jennifer Tilly, Janet McTeer and Brendan Fletcher.
