Schwimmer to helm indie flick
David Schwimmer is set to direct the indie comedy Run, Fat Boy, Run for Gold Circle films. The screenplay is by Michael Ian Black, who starred as Phil Stubbs on the NBC series Ed. The movie is about a charismatic but oblivious overweight man who leaves his fiancée on what was supposed to have been his wedding day. Years later, he realizes he loves her and wants to win her back. In order to impress her and make her realize that her current handsome, wealthy fiancé is the wrong guy for her, he must finish the New York Marathon. The search is on for a lead actor, and production is planned to begin in the spring.
