Crispin Glover next actor to join Tim Burton flick

Crispin Glover will be the Knave of Hearts in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland adaptation. He joins a cast that already includes Mia Wasikowska in the lead role, Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter and Michael Sheen. In the movie, Alice defends the Knave of Hearts in court after he allegedly steals the Queen of Hearts' tarts.

Frost/Nixon star joins two projects

Brit Michael Sheen (Frost/Nixon) will co-star with Samuel L. Jackson in thriller Unthinkable and stand alongside Johnny Depp in Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. Both projects are a change of pace for Sheen, who usually plays real-life characters to great critical acclaim. Unthinkable, to begin shooting this month, is about a terrorist threatening to detonate nuclear weapons in the United States.

Disney nabs Johnny Depp for three big roles

Johnny Depp signed on to reprise his Jack Sparrow role in another Pirates of the Caribbean sequel for Disney. Also for the studio, Depp agreed to play Tonto in a big screen adaptation of The Lone Ranger and the Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's take on Alice in Wonderland.

Aussie Mia Wasikowska is in final talks to fall down the rabbit hole in Tim Burton's take on the Lewis Carroll classic, Alice in Wonderland, for Disney. The script was written by Lion King scribe Linda Woolverton.

Fanning goes down the rabbit hole

Dakota Fanning is in final negotiations to star as Alice in adaptations of Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass for DreamWorks. Les Bohem will write the screenplays and pitched the idea to Steven Spielberg with Fanning specifically in mind for the lead role. Spielberg, Fanning and Bohem worked together on the Sci Fi Channel miniseries Taken. The screenwriter plans to remain very true to the books as they are written.
