Cast signs on for Awake
Lena Olin, Terrence Howard and Sam Robards have joined the cast of The Weinstein Company's Awake. Hayden Christensen and Jessica Alba star in the film, which has Christensen playing a surgical patient whose anesthesia goes wrong, causing him to be awake but paralyzed during his procedure. Alba plays Christensen's wife, and Olin and Robards will portray his parents. Howard will have the role of a doctor. Joby Harold is making his directorial debut from his own screenplay.

Alba, Christensen are Awake
Jessica Alba and Hayden Christensen have signed on to star in the psychological thriller Awake for the WeinsteinCo. Joby Harold is making his directorial debut from his own screenplay. The story will center on a man (Christensen) who goes through a condition known as "anesthetic awareness" during surgery. This means that is awake but paralyzed while the procedure is taking place. He and his wife (Alba) must deal with their demons as this event brings about some dramatic results.
Jared Leto had originally been set to star, but Christensen will replace him.

Leto is Awake
Jared Leto is set to star in the indie film Awake, which will be directed by Joby Harold from his own screenplay. Leto potrays a benefactor of a huge family fortune in need of a heart transplant. While the procedure is going on, he grows aware that there is a conspiracy amongst the entire surgical team to get his money. In order to survive, he must somehow outthink them. The movie will begin shooting in November.
