ThinkFilm to distribute Assassination of Richard Nixon
ThinkFilm has purchased North American rights to the Sean Penn film The Assassination of Richard Nixon. The movie had its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival and will debut in North America at the Toronto International Film Festival. ThinkFilm will distribute the film in New York and Los Angeles in late December so that it can be considered for Oscars. Expansion will come in 2005. The movie is directed by Niels Muller and co-stars Naomi Watts. It is based on the true story of Samuel Bicke, a man whose life was spiraling downward quickly. He suddenly decided that if he could kill President Nixon, he would squash everything the man represented and force a life change.
