Sony options Jane Austen Book Club
Sony Pictures Entertainment has picked up the screen rights to the bestselling novel The Jane Austen Book Club, by Karen Joy Fowler. The story revolves around five women and one man who reside in California and occasionally meet to have discussions of Austen's novels. With Austen's works as the jumping off point, the book explores the lives of each individual club member. The Jane Austen Book Club has spent 13 weeks on the bestseller lists and has seen solid sales both domestically and in foreign territories.
