Gridiron Gang gets a director
Phil Joanou (Three O'Clock High) has been hired to direct Gridiron Gang, which will star Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as a probation officer who puts together a team of juvenile detention center inmates to compete against teams from local high schools. Xzibit is in talks to take a role as the assitant coach of the team, and the screenplay was written by Jeff Maguire. The movie will begin shooting at the end of May.

The Rock joins a Gang
Dwayne The Rock Johnson has signed on as the lead in Columbia's Gridiron Gang, which centers around teenagers at a youth probation center in LA who find self-confidence and learn respect when they counselor has them join a football team. The movie is based on a true story and already has a documentary by the same name that details the events. The screenplay was written by Jeff Maguire.
