Fox Set for Next Die Hard

After years of on-again, off-again in the struggle to make a fourth Die Hard installment, 20th Century Fox has finally settled on a title and a release date. Live Free or Die Hard will begin shooting soon and will be released on June 29, 2007. The movie will again feature Bruce Willis as rough, wise-cracking New York cop John McClane. The story, like the release date, revolves around the July 4th holiday, and will be about a crippling attack on the nation's computer infrastructure. Len Wiseman will direct the film, from a script by Mark Bomback. The last McClane picture was Die Hard With a Vengeance, released in 1995.

McClane to Die Hard one more time?

Doug Richardson has been hired by Twentieth Century Fox to rewrite Die Hard 4, which is being developed under the watchful eye of Bruce Willis and his Cheyenne Enterprises partner Arnold Rifkin. Richardson, who just completed writing Hostage, another Willis starrer, has also done three other projects for Cheyenne - Tenkiller, True Believers and Black Water Transit. The latest version of the Die Hard script came from Mark Bomback, who had rewritten a pre-existing Fox script known as World War 3.com. Richardson will work from that same storyline. It is unclear at this point whether director John McTiernan, who directed the odd-numbered Die Hards, will return for a fourth film.
