Huh huh, huh huh…Billy Bob is Mr. Woodcock

Billy Bob Thornton has signed on to play the title character in New Line Cinema's Mr. Woodcock. In the film, which is being directed by Craig Gillespie, Thornton is playing a terrifying high school gym teacher with the typical flat-top haircut. One of his students overcomes the nightmarish memories of gym class with Mr. Woodcock and grows up to become a successful motivational author. Naturally, he is dismayed to find out that Mr. Woodcock is dating his mother and that the old teacher is just as cruel as ever. The studio is hoping to have a fall start on the project once rewrites of the script are completed. Josh Sternin and Jeffrey Ventimilia are rewriting the original screenplay from Michael Carnes and Josh Gilbert.
