Gaiman negotiating to make directing debut
Neil Gaiman is in talks to direct a film based on his own graphic novel, Death: The High Cost of Living, for New Line Cinema. Gaiman also wrote the screenplay for the film, which centers around a teenager named Sexton who is considering committing suicide. He is saved by a teenager who claims to be Death herself. She spends one day every 100 years learning the value of the lives she takes. Sexton is the lucky beneficiary of this particular day, and he learns to love life by spending a day with the mysterious girl.
